An employee pieces parts of torn documents and photographs together in Berlin. The pieces used to be documents drawn up for East Germany’s secret police, the Stasi, and were shredded weeks before the East German government’s collapse in 1989.
Archivists have been piecing them back together to discover the full extent of the Stasi’s spying activities against East German citizens.
